The Cape Independence movement needs funding to keep moving forward. Raising funding has been an ongoing challenge with limited options. We can either ask a small number of wealthy individuals to donate or ask the general public to donate on social media.
This new project introduces blockchain based funding and expands our audience to people currently living outside the Western Cape.
The graphic below shows our funding needs over time. When a referendum is announced we will need a large marketing budget to support a ‘leave’ campaign, similar to the Brexit campaign(s).
If you were an early investor in Bitcoin (or similar), please donate to support the projects and teams that are working to make Cape independence a reality.
Overview of funding needs
Initial crowdfunding to raise 3 ETH, and if successful:
Social media campaign to support the pro-referendum political parties
Fund the Cape Independent news site for another year
We will also use donations to:
Launch the $CoGH token
Design a brand for Cape of Good Hope (see Brand Estonia)
Design NFTs (supporter certificates) based on the architecture of the Cape
Make a video about this project for social media marketing
Longer term projects:
ccTLD / TLD (domain names for the new country)
GovTech projects: digital nomad visas and eCitizenship (similar to e-Estonia)
Mobile app for frequent online referendums
